Why is LeBron James currently better than Kobe Bryant?

LeBron James is better than Kobe Bryant, always has been and always will be. While Kobe may have 4 championship rings (3 with Shaq), he has been in the league significantly longer than LeBron has, and his recent trends should have Laker fans worried about the playoffs this season.

For starters, LeBron and the Cavs have defeated Kobe's Lakers in both of their head-to-head matchup this season. The first game on Christmas day was a blow-out, and the Lakers were clearly outmatched. Granted Kobe may or may not be playing with a broker finger, but that's not an excuse. The physical beating that LeBron takes on a nightly basis when he drives through the lane is far worse than Kobe's supposed broken finger.

To prove my point, I'll throw you some stats. Following LeBron's showdown with D-Wade, the Cavs have won 5 straight games. Over the current winning streak, LeBron is averaging 33.5 points, and still manages to have a ridiculous amount of assists and rebounds. Kobe will never average as many assists or rebounds as LeBron does, because he's not as well-rounded. I've said this before, and I'll say it again. LeBron has trust in his Cavaliers teammates, Kobe has next to none in his Laker counterparts.

Which brings me to what Kobe has done in the month of January 2010. Taking his patented 30+ shots a night, Kobe has averaged a pathetic 38% shooting percentage. For Kobe, this is not good news. That 38% represents the lowest FG percentage Kobe has averaged in a month since early 2004. Not a good sign for Lakers fans, and anyone who thinks that Kobe is still better than LeBron is flat-out oblivious to the truth. Guaranteed, LeBron drops another 30+ performance (maybe shooting 50%) tonight vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves. Kobe is over-hyped and the Lakers championship window is closing fast. LeBron's window is wide-open and will be for years to come. LeBron James is underrated

  2. No disagreement with your point. Kobe may be a better pure shooter, however. I don't know the stats on shots attempted/made between the two

  3. Agree with both points. While Kobe Bryant is overrated, he does have a ridiculously smooth jump shot, is likely the best shooter in the game, and seems to be able to get it up whenever he wants.
