Cavaliers 46-point 1st quarter = blow out of Clippers at home, extends winning streak to 8

Everything is copasetic in Cavalier-land right about now. Since LeBron and D-Wade's show in Miami, the Cavaliers have not missed a step. The Cavaliers own the best record in the league at 38-11, and no one is really close in the Eastern Conference. They managed to handle the Timberwolves in a game that they (including LeBron) did not even play well. JJ Hickson had a break-out game, scoring 23 points on 8/10 shooting and 8 rebounds in only 24 minutes on the floor. In summary: LeBron not entirely effective, kicks water bottle in disgust, gets fined $25,000. Regardless, they won the game and pushed the winning streak to 6.

Next up was a trip to Indiana to face a Pacers team that let's be honest, has no right competing on the same court with the The King and his Cavaliers. LeBron had another off-night shooting 6/18, felt he was fouled a lot, and managed still to score 23 points, 13 assists, 4 absolute monster blocks, and 7 rebounds.

When asked after the game about his statistics and whether or not he could average a triple-double if he wanted, LeBron offered this, "It's all about the win for me," James said of finishing one rebound from a triple-double. "I think I've probably had more one-rebound-away or one assist-away triple-double than anybody in NBA history."

True enough. That's what makes LeBron such an underrated player, his ability to share the ball and not focus about himself. Another great sign was yet again, the play of Shaquille O' Neal. Dominating the post, and scoring 22 points on 8/10 shooting is starting to again become Shaq's montra. In summation: Shaq dominates, LeBron finds open teammates while blocking everything in sight, Cavs push winning streak to 7.

Which brings us to last night, when the Cavaliers hosted the Los Angeles Clippers. This was a great game to be a Cavs fan, and if you witnessed the 1st quarter domination that ensued, it was a thing of beauty. Where do we begin?

11 three-pointers tied an NBA record. Considering they shot 13, that's utterly ridiculous. 46 points, in the 1st quarter. Are you kidding me? That tied the Cavaliers all-time record for points in any quarter. How about the ridiculously deep 3's LeBron was hoisting up that went in, and his 23 points on 5/6 shooting. This was just basketball supremacy at it's finest.

Consider the fact that the Cavs were without Mo Williams and Delonte West, and the achievement is even more impressive. Never has there been such a display of shooting precision to start a game. In summation: Cavs ride NBA/franchise-record 1st quarter to win over Clippers, extending winning streak to 8. LeBron James has this team on a roll, and there isn't really anything any other team can do to stop them. The Cavaliers are in the zone. LeBron is playing out of his mind. LeBron James is underrated 85RSDQRF7Q8C

  1. What about the Cavs lazy play following the 1st quarter? I don't think we should be worried but it is aggravating.

  2. Very good point William, I also would have liked to see them finish the game out the way it started. Sometimes the Cavs lose focus when they're beating down teams like the Clippers, and of course LeBron sitting for his usual 4-6 minutes of the 2nd quarter never helps.
